I would still encourage everyone that visits to register to fully utilize the site. Even if you do register, you can still make anonymous posts by simply not being logged in. If this is your first time visiting the site, please read this short message! I'm planning on adding a few more features such as showing recent activity on the site. Also, something next to all of the teacher and course ratings that show you how many ratings there are and how many people recommend it without having to actually click on the link. If anyone has any more suggestions please Click Here to email them to me.
I want to thank everyone that visits the site and sincerely hope that everyone is able to get some use out of it. I’ve been working on it and believe it is ready to be used by every LSU student. Right now, the site is basically empty. The students like you and I need to fill it and help this site in reaching its full potential!
The site has numerous features intended for the benefit of LSU students. The main feature is the academic message boards. A message board has been set up for each of the 5,653 courses offered by LSU. From these message boards, students will have an easily accessible medium for connecting to their fellow students. Students seeking notes from missed classes, clarification on confusing class topics, tutors, or anything else related to their classes will be able to find it here. There are also message boards set up for each of the LSU Greek organizations, sports, and other miscellaneous topics.
The next main features are the teacher ratings and course ratings for LSU. I am very aware that there is currently a site offering this feature, but it is poorly ran. That site is not well organized and has not been updated in years. This feature on my site will be updated regularly and well organized. This will be a huge benefit to all LSU students when scheduling their classes.
One of the features of the site I believe to have the most potential for being popular on the site is the campus calendar. Here, LSU students have the ability to add their own events to whichever day they would like as a way for them to promote it to the entire campus. This way, anyone looking for something to do on a certain night will only have to click on that day to quickly be informed on everything going on around campus!
The remaining features are aimed towards the entertainment for LSU students around campus. Students are able to rate and leave comments for restaurants, movies, bars, and shopping. Here, users are able to use this feature to pick a movie to see, find a restaurant to eat at on a Friday night, see what bar they should try out, or learn if a new boutique that just opened in Perkins Rowe is worth them to drive across town for.
The site uses a well organized My Account system for using the site. Setting up a "My Course" list will allow the user to easily locate other users in their same classes and find out if new messages have been posted on those message boards. The goal is for this site to one day be a site used frequently by all students. I'm confident that goal will be obtained.
